About Michael

Michael Murray passed away on March 26, 2024. During his lifetime, he fell in love, moved to Toronto, got married and had a son. Michael had seen fire and he had seen rain. He had seen sunny days that he thought would never end, and he had seen lonely times when he could not find a friend. He worked as a creative writer, copywriter, blogger and “journalist” and as he was modest, he felt awkward talking about his genius, which he found out did not translate into IQ tests. At any rate, he could write about practically anything, having done so for Hazlitt, the Globe and Mail, the National Post, CBC Radio, the Ottawa Citizen and Reader’s Digest, amongst many other prestigious publications that paid extraordinary amounts of money.

In addition to his writing work, Michael also founded an online magazine called Galaxy Brain, which was a collection of amazing curated work, showcasing artists, writers, poets, painters, photographers and musicians.

He won the New Yorker cartoon caption contest and maintained a blog like an all-star. Michael was available for freelance writing of all kinds, dubious or otherwise, and pleaded with readers to buy his book “A Van Full of Girls” with Insomniac Press, as he had absolutely no other way to make a living.
